Albuquerque International Sunport handled 6,292,458 passengers in 2000. The total has more than doubled over the past 10 years.
There were 233,491 takeoffs and landings, or an average of 640 per day, in 2000 at ABQ.Ê 82,117 by major airlines; 34,441 by commuter airlines; 44,731 by military aircraft; and 72,202 by general aviation aircraft.
ABQ shares its runways with Kirtland Air Force Base, which provides aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) services for the airport.
