FAA Smoke Transport Code - System Requirement

The solution to CFD problems involves three phases, which are often implemented as separate software packages. The first phase is model generation, which includes definition of the geometry and meshing. The second phase is a numerical simulation with the appropriate boundary and initial conditions. The final phase is post-processing of the results. The selected software design employs a Windows-based architecture for the graphical user interface; therefore, the software will run on a common personal computer. Microsoft Visual C++ is used for the design of the GUI and OpenGL is used for 3-D graphics rendering.

The analysis module (or transport solver) is written in FORTRAN. The compiled FORTRAN 90 code is invoked from the windows code, which should be transparent to the user.

Requirements:

Platform: Windows 2000 or Windows XP
Processor: 1.5 GHZ or above
